unearthing artifacts
Dear Ones,
I hope you are feeling good.
Yesterday was a day of reckoning for creatures that have used our home as a runway. According to the exterminator, the visitors have not moved in. Phew. Now they will have to leave. Lee did a comprehensive check behind major appliances and in two closets.
This excavation led to some extreme home cleaning. I realized that we have far too many tote bags. There were also boxes and bins to organize.
Unearthing artifacts provided windows into other times in my life. Favorites include a baby book from my earliest days as a mama with eleven letters that I wrote to Marcello when I had to go back to work.
Here is a glimpse of that epistolary life.
This is packed with details from our earliest days with Marcello
Traveling and staying hydrated?

Opening a folder, I found a collection of cards that I had made for my mom. She saved these cards, and then I kept them.
What’s that you say about age?
This reminds me of a recent watercolor painting.
My mom was a teacher and a principal, so this is accurate.
I have always loved a good font.
Because nothing says Christmas like a pair of ginkgo leaves!
I expressed love, gratitude, and a shared sense of humor with my mom.
It was a joy to reread letters to Marcello and my mom.
Perhaps you could find a closet you have to explore and unearth a treasure. Or share a note, song, or funny meme with a loved one today?
