Dear Ones,
I hope you are doing ok. Please reach out to your friends or family members, as we all need our communities for love and support. I am getting better at this.
My next big appointment is lymphatic mapping. This procedure will be done on the 14th to identify lymph nodes that may contain cancer cells if they have spread.
Surgery will be on the 15th. It was originally scheduled for this week.
This past weekend, we went to Asbury Park for the 4th and the beach. It was great to relax on the sand after playing in the waves with Marcello.
I am having all the feelings. Have you seen the meme of a baby laughing and crying?
I feel vulnerable. I have been tuning into the natural world to feel calm. I remembered that a starfish can lose an arm, and a range of animals that lose parts of their bodies, such as tails or limbs, survive.
Family and friends, I appreciate people who are willing to support in some way. They recommended that I have someone care for me for the 24 hours after being discharged from the hospital on the 16th. I know my immediate family is here. I would be happy to hear from you if you would like to check in, visit, or chat with me.
Thank you for being there for me and for your family, friends, and communities. I will face the hard parts wave by wave. Soon, I will get myself onto a surfboard.
Please take good care and give yourself a great big hug.
